Prince Louis’ Christening & Prince George’s fifth birthday
Matt Porteous, the man behind the lens of Prince Louis’ candid christening shot captures Prince George’s fifth birthday.
Previously commissioned to shoot Prince George’s third birthday and Pippa Middleton’s wedding, Matt Porteous was invited back as the families private photographer to capture Prince Louis’ christening at Clarence House. Whilst on location, Matt captured the official photographs of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness’s fifth birthday on July 22nd.
Hand picked for his reputable personality and commendable talents , Matt was personally invited to attend the Royal occasion, capturing a truly special day to which he was honoured to be a part of.
Mr Porteous said: "It was a privilege to take this photograph of Prince George, and I am delighted that The Duke and Duchess have chosen to share it. I wish His Royal Highness a very happy fifth birthday."
Matt’s love and delight in his surroundings is evident in his work. He captures and reveals the expression and detail that is seldom evident to the naked eye. His images are alive with emotion and movement; he enters the world of that image and allows us a glimpse of his excitement, his humour, his soul. Matt chooses the setting carefully, aiming to create a space where his clients can act naturally and express themselves freely.
Matt’s mentors, close friends and travel opportunities have all influenced his approach to his work over the past 20 years. The detail and rich narratives to the stories which Matt portrays though his photographs exhibit the love he has for not just his work, but the people he meets and the places that he has been lucky enough to encounter along the way.
