Matt Porteous met up with Suzie Turner in New York this January. After spending an afternoon in -5c conditions to create a totally unplanned couture fashion shoot around the streets of New York city Matt & Suzie headed to West Beverley Hills, to photograph more of Suzie’s understated yet incredibly intricate designs with the amazing Imogen Leaver.
Suzie considers each client’s requirements and creates bespoke garments, each with a unique touch and attention to detail. It is clear from her focus on quality and the intricacy of her work, why Suzie is considered one of the top designers in the world. Her open-mindedness and spontaneity combines with Matt’s vision, and their originality and passion come together to communicate the beauty of her timeless creations.
The sporadic energy of the New York shoot with Dina continued in LA with Imogen which again exemplified how Matt and Suzie’s working friendship was a perfect merge of creativity. Models getting changed in the back of cars, taking taxis around the city and scoping out locations that felt right, taking advantage of natural light and impromptu backdrops such as the streets on the Sunset strip and Rodeo Drive. highlights the fun and spontaneous nature of the two creators.
