Recent personal projects, commissions and behind the scenes of the studio
It’s not everyday we’re commissioned on a medical shoot, and it’s certainly not everyday it’s an underwater medical shoot. But then again, nothing really surprises us when it comes to shooting with Getty Images.
Repetitive point and shoot, that is how we were beginning to feel after years of shooting with Canon, which although are great cameras and cameras we continue to use in certain situations. We felt that we had become automated in our approach to visual story telling, something had to change.
Matt Porteous, the man behind the lens of Prince Louis’ candid christening shot captures Prince George’s fifth birthday.
I've always had a fascination with our world below the breaking waves. To me, it symbolizes the world that we live in today, the calm before every storm, the beauty, and the chaos. The reefs that survive and many that have gone, fish numbers are down in oceans, where others they thrive. We live in a beautiful world but we must search further to find it and work harder to protect it.
"Animals have come to mean so much in our lives. We live in a fragmented and disconnected culture. Politics are ugly, religion is struggling, technology is stressful, and the economy is unfortunate. What's one thing that we have in our lives that we can depend on? A dog or a cat loving us unconditionally, every day, very faithfully."
A collection of underwater images, captured with studio, high speed sync from Elinchrom, and video light we focused on movement, the beauty of dance and the raw expression of wrestling. Personal projects by Matt Porteous and Googsi alongside Getty creative, Elinchrom and the Flash Centre.
Explore our multifaceted world of oceans, above and below the surface. Develop connections between people and the oceans. Share knowledge and experiences, through emotive stories and images, of all that threatens and enhances the oceans. Conserve our oceanic environment by capturing images of its reality. Capture the truths, beauty and simplicity of people and places, connected with the ocean. Educate in order to impact positively on shorelines and on marine life.
We believe the meaning of life is to find your gift, and the purpose of life is to give it away. The Character Project challenges us to think deeper, to embrace and to actively acknowledge our uniqueness by having different identities that represent us...
Our beautiful earth is lovely to see.
Trees grow high as high as the sky.
Birds sing in the sky to tell the good earth why,
They love to fly in the sky.
The sun shines into our earth's life.
While the moon gives us light in the night.
In the earth's land forms there are people near and far,
That are playing right now on our beautiful earth's floor.
This is our earth, our beautiful earth.
